2nd Kings chapter 4. Do you believe in miracles?
Greetings everyone! Today I needed this chapter!
Chapter 4 has four different accounts each involving a miracle with Elisha.
1st. A widow has a financial need and is about to lose her two sons as payment. The miracle is she was asked to gather empty jars and then fill them with her one small jar of olive oil. Her one small jar of olive oil was able to fill several jars which she sold all of them and was able to pay off her debt and live off the rest.
2nd. A woman had no son to carry their name. Elisha said you would have a son and she did. Later the son died. She believed he could be healed and brought back to life miraculously and he was.
3rd. Several prophets fixed a stew unknowingly with poisonous gourds. They became sick and we're going to die but were all healed by Elisha after he added flour to the stew.
4th. Elisha took 20 loaves of bread and with it miraculously fed a hundred men and had some left over.
After reading this chapter I am reminded that we have to believe in miracles. I'm not saying God's going to do big miracles every time we ask him to. But I believe when we meet difficult situations we have to believe that God can do a miracle to get us through our life situation. How he chooses to do it maybe simple but it may take a great step of faith and obedience on our part. Regardless how he does it will be a miracle and we must press forward believing in miracles.
What are you going through now? What is your difficult situation? What is your impossible situation?
Have you sought the Lord in prayer? Have you read his word to see what he would say to you? Is there something specific you need to do as a way of showing your faith and obedience to God? Or do you feel inclined right now to wait on the Lord?
Wherever you're at during this time of need Don't stop believing in a miracle!!!

Nothing is too difficult for God. There is no limit to what He can do and who He can use in the process! Will we give the Lord what we have and let Him use us?
I was thinking today about what Jesus did in John 6:8-13.
One of His (Jesus) disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, He told His disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.
Imagine – during a time of famine and drought a man brought Elisha his first fruits. In a preview of an even greater miracle to come by Jesus, Elisha fed the people and it was enough plus leftovers. Great things can and will be done whenever God’s people give Him their first fruits rather than their leftovers!
