Hey y’all! 1st Samuel chapter 7.
Two thoughts that stand out to me from this chapter:
- 100% Commitment to the Lord!
- The value of great leadership.
If you're going to serve the Lord, then serve him and him alone. We need to take a deep evaluation of our own lives and ask God to reveal any false gods or wrong desires so that nothing inhibits what God is trying to accomplish in and through our lives.
Great leadership can help keep a large group of people on track for great success, great results and great outcomes.
Samuel was a great leader and there were great results and success and outcomes.
God has put me in a position of leadership but I often feel inadequate. If I focus just on the fact that I'm “inadequate,” it could affect my actual leadership because I will constantly be telling myself I'm not good enough. Yes we have weaknesses as leaders, but if God put us in a position of leadership he will help us become more skilled and more experienced and knowledgeable. God doesn't call us because we're qualified or adequate, he qualifies us because we're called to be in a leadership position.
Whether you are a leader at home or business or Ministry, God wants to make us so we lead with great results, success and outcomes. Be confident in your leadership and don't let your weaknesses destroy you.

Amen, PB. I’ve been reminded in a current Bible Study that “I know what I know” from reading His Word and to not let the enemy plant doubts in my head about what I know to be true. I know what I know because He has told me!!
V 3 says it all – If we want to be free from the terror of our enemies, we are to serve the Lord only.
V9 The same is true for our country today. A Lamb has been offered. Prayers need to be made. And God wil hear (2 Chronicles 7:14).
V 17 – If you want to minister, it all begins at home. (2 Deut 6:7)
This first part of Samuel 7 resonated with me…
Then all the people of Israel turned back to the Lord. 3 So Samuel said to all the Israelites, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” 4 So the Israelites put away their Baals and Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only.
It made me ask the question, who in my life is like Samuel? Who do I have holding me accountable to commit myself to the Lord and only Him? Do I have those people in my life? And if I don’t- where do I start in getting my family and friends to be like Samuel for me. Then along that same line, am I like Samuel in anyone’s life? Is there anyone I know that I help stay on the right path? Do I have an opportunity to say to those who I love, rid yourself of your foreign gods and worship only the Lord? It has me thinking today… who is like Samuel in my life, and how can I be like Samuel to others.
Good thoughts by all!
I was reminded of Proverbs 27:17.
“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
