Leviticus chapter 24.
Two words jump out at me in this passage.
1. CONTINUALLY. The lamps that were before the Lord were to be continually burning.
2. REGULARLY. Bread was to regularly be placed before the Lord as an offering.
As a follower of Christ, I am to present myself before the Lord as holy and committed and broken and humble and burning with his Holy Spirit and Fire. My flame is to not go out. It is not to be extinguished. I am to offer my body as a holy offering willing to be used for the Lord.
I want to follow Christ. I want to be used by the Lord to represent him to others: my wife, the church, and the lost world. I want to be his holy light in this world that continually Burns for him. I want to daily offer my life to him and say use me God today how you want to use me. I'll go wherever you want me to go. I'll do whatever you want me to do.
Satan is constantly trying to distract us so we get sidetracked with other people or other things or with problems so that our light becomes dim or extinguished.
Lord, I want the Light of Christ to continually be burning inside me. Help me to feed the light with your word and Truth daily. I want to be daily in your word so I can grow and be challenged and not lose focus on what's really important. I want my life to represent you to others. Help me love others. Help me to tell others about you, first with my life and second with my words. Help me not to be ashamed but be confident and bold, relying on your Holy Spirit. I want to burn at home with my wife first then at church then in this Lost World. I offer my life to you.

Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the Lord commanded Moses.
There was no messing around back then , no lawyers trying to get him off , no protests, no judge signing a extension …
Which is a big part of what’s wrong today
Sarah how is the little girl?
While reading Leviticus 24, I was reminded today of what Jesus said in Matthew 5:38-42. “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.”
As followers of Jesus, we should go above and beyond in going the extra mile to be kind and helpful to others. This makes me think of the HOBO theme for Edinboro Summer Camp this year that’s based off of Romans 12:10: Helping Others Before Ourselves.
When we think of the modern day menorahs, we picture candlesticks. But in Moses’ day, they were lamps filled with olive oil. They needed to be replenished continually just like we do to keep our faith and love burning brightly. I’m so grateful for the many ways the Lord blesses me with fresh oil – devotions, prayer, His word, fellowship with other believers, etc. Our God is so good.
